Making Change Possible

The Dawgs Project is a non-profit organization based in Hawthorne, CA, operating since 2009. Our core mission is to support America's Military Working Dog Handlers by providing barbecues, care packages, and service dogs for veterans with PTSD. We also aim to preserve the heritage of "K9" and make a positive impact on the lives of those who have served. Founded on the passion and dedication of members and volunteers, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Please join us by supporting our efforts.

What We Offer

Service Dogs

Committed to Quality

Our service dogs provide emotional support to veterans suffering from PTSD, helping them live better lives. We take pride in our commitment to quality and the life-changing impact our dogs have on the veterans we serve.

Making Memories

Our barbecues bring together military working dog handlers and their families for a day of fun and memories. We believe these events are important to maintaining the camaraderie and support system that military families rely on.

Canine Companions

Supporting Heroes and Children

We raise awareness about dogs' role in providing emotional support to veterans and children. Through education, services, and programs, we aim to positively impact lives nationwide.

Winter Fundraiser

The Dawgs Project held a successful winter fundraiser to support our mission of helping military working dog handlers and veterans with PTSD. Thank you to all who contributed and made this event a success!

The Dawgs Project started as an idea to support our military working dog handlers and veterans with PTSD. With the help of our dedicated members and volunteers, we have been able to make that idea a reality and positively impact the lives of those who have served.

We are grateful for the support and recognition we have received for our work at The Dawgs Project. It inspires us to continue our mission and help more veterans in need.

New Program Launch

The Dawgs Project is embarking on an innovative journey with the launch of its latest program focused on educating high schoolers in caring for and training dogs to become service companions for veterans. This groundbreaking initiative not only nurtures empathy and responsibility in young hearts but also fosters a sense of purpose and service. By teaching children the intricacies of dog care and training, The Dawgs Project aims to instill essential life skills while simultaneously addressing the pressing need for service animals among veterans facing emotional challenges. Through this program, children learn compassion, teamwork, and the power of the human-animal bond, ultimately making a profound difference in the lives of both veterans and the dogs they nurture and train. The Dawgs Project continues to exemplify its commitment to creating positive change, one wagging tail and grateful heart at a time.
